  • Make It a Safe Fourth!

Table of foodJuly 4th is getting closer, which means it’s a good time to share safety tips with patients on fireworks, food safety and outdoor cooking.

The latest numbers from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission show that an average of 250 people head to the emergency room each day with fireworks-related injuries during the month around the July 4th holiday. Also, the Centers for Disease Control reminds us that food poisoning peaks in the summer months when warmer temperatures help foodborne germs spread quicker.

Here are some holiday safety resources to share with patients during office visits or in your practice communications:

And as summer moves into full swing, here’s another reminder. ISMIE offers a Suspended Coverage option covering leaves of absence from your practice ranging from a month to a full year at a discounted premium. To learn more, email ISMIE’s underwriting department or call 800-782-4767.
