  • One in Three Consumers Will See Their Health Records Breached in 2016. How Prepared is Your Medical Office?

locksFor practice management professionals, keeping patient health care data safe is only going to get tougher in the new year and beyond.

A recent report by health IT research group IDC Health Insights notes that one in three American consumers will have their health care records compromised by cyberattack in 2016. Health records are the richest trove of data out there - reportedly worth 10 times more than credit card information on the black market.

If your practice ever experiences a data breach, ISMIE Mutual has you covered. Free cyber liability coverage is already part of your existing policy, and expanded protection is available.

Keep in mind that even the smallest of medical practices could be targeted by hackers, and might benefit from increased coverage at a low per-physician flat rate.

Not sure whether your practice's current cyber liability coverage is adequate? Call ISMIE's Underwriting Division at 800-782-4767 or email underwriting@ismie.com.

  • The Illinois Department of Public Health recently revised the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination school physical form to accommodate changes in immunization requirements.

Illinois law now requires students entering 6th and 12th grades to receive the meningococcal vaccine. This requirement took effect for the 2015-2016 school year and is reflected on the new form, which practices may begin using immediately.
